OCTOBER CALENDAR

ANNOUNCEMENTS / ACTIVITIES

  1. A Check Request Form is available for download if you have purchased items for church business and activities and would like to be reimbursed.

  2. The Linear Calendar is on posted on the board in the Administrative Hall.
  3. Check out the new WUMC Exchange Board in the Banquet Hall.  Questions: Contact Bob Liedberg, 706-742-5412.
  4. Altar Guild - The worship Team would like to start an Altar Guild.  Coordinator will have the responsibility for changing the altar scarves, preparing Communion, securing Acolytes and preparing the altar for special occasions.  We need a coordinator who would like to take charge of this ministry.  For those interested, please contact Kathey Williamson or the church office.
  5. Our 11 AM worship is recorded each week and posted on our website.  We are also able to listen to the church service in other areas of the church by tuning a radio to 97.3 FM.
  6. Acolytes and Bible Carriers Needed.
  7. Save and bring your unused coupons to our Coupon Clipping for a Cause.  Place them on top of the green trash bins.
  8. C.A.N. Food Bank - canned food and non-perishables are needed. They can be placed in the blue bucket in the banquet hall.
  9. Substitute cooks for Wednesday Night Suppers. From time to time one of our regular cooks cannot help on their designated night. We need people we can call to fill in. Man or Woman. If you are available and would like to participate, please call Kristy @ 706-742-2445.
  10. Sunday School Teachers Needed for our children's classes.
  11. Children's Church volunteers are needed for rotation. Please contact the church office.
  12. Check out the yearly calendar and the bulletin boards in the Administrative Hall. Please help the staff keep them accurate by calling in or stopping by with updates. Also, the minutes of some of the meetings are posted along with other needed information. All sign up sheets are there also.
  13. Newsletter Articles are due by the 3rd Monday of each Month.
  14. Reminder: Neighborhood Welcome Watch Program packets are available to give to new families moving into your neighborhoods. Keep one in your car. Take one to work and give to a co-worker. Let's use 'em! There are a few hanging on the coat hook outside the church office.
  15. Cookbooks are on Sale and are $10.00 each and benefit UMW mission projects. Just put the money or a check in the offering plate and mark it for "UMW Cookbook" or give to Kristy.
  16. T.O.P.S. meet every Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall
  17. The Men's Group has a Tool Box Ministry for anyone needing a small job done around the house that you need help in completing. Please call the church office at 742-2445.
  18. Reminder: Please completely turn off cell phones and pagers during the worship service as they tend to interfere with our sound system.
  19. Recycling Fundraiser. Save your discarded cell phones, inkjet cartridges, and now also laserjet and toner cartridges. Please bring them to the church office. 
  20. Sanctuary Flowers. If you would like to place flowers in the sanctuary for a particular Sunday morning, please sign up on the flower calendar located in the Administrative hallway. We must have your reservation at least one week in advance of your desired Sunday, and, unless other arrangements are made, please give a check to the church in the amount of $40.00 for each Sunday you reserve. Call the church office to place your order 706.742.2445.
  21. Holy Communion Sundays we accept donations that support our "Love Your Neighbor" fund.
  22. ​We observe Holy Communion twice a month.  For the 11 AM worship the 2nd Sunday and for the 8:45 AM worship the 4th Sunday.
  23. ​Collecting uniforms for the Winterville Elementary School for girls & boys.  Pants, Bermuda shorts, skorts - colors:  navy, black  or khaki.  Also polo style shirts (2 or 3 button placket) - colors: navy, royal blue, golden yellow, black or white.  Sizes for all 8 to 18 - larger sizes are frequently in demand.
  24. ​There a postcards in each pew for you to write a quick note to someone in the church.  Whether it be their birthday, sickness, absence, just thinking of them - please place it in the offering place and Kristy will fill in the address and mail it.
